ACTIVITIES AROUND THE WORLD

We have always believed that people are our most valuable collective resource. This is particularly true when it comes to the next generation of young people, because they will be the ones who drive the creation of a better future society for all of us. Therefore, we want to empower university students to become the seeds of the future by providing them with skills, knowledge, mindsets, and better understandings of real working life.

In FY2022, we hosted an online seminar in Thailand on the topic of “Shaping Path to Career Success” to guide university students on how to prepare for their working life and how to properly manage their finances so as to build a stable foundation that will last a lifetime. We were overwhelmed by the high level of interest, with 380 university students from across the country participating.

To enrich the university students’ experience and foster a deeper understanding of our organization’s functions, we organized an exclusive on-site workshop for 44 university students at the SC Thailand office. The event provided students with an opportunity to network, connect with peers, explore their interests and passions, and gain insights into potential career paths by engaging with our staff members. In exchange, Sumitomo employees had the chance to gain valuable insights into the attitudes and perspectives of the next generation of workers. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive. They told us they appreciated the opportunity to learn from people with diverse perspectives, as well as the chance to explore a real-world work environment, which enriched their learning experience.
