SC Thailand arranged a teaching development program and provided mentors for 32 mathematics teachers in expanded schools in Ang Thong province. The training is followed by practice and evaluations from their peers to encourage further improvement.
Sustainable quality education should start from teachers. Our goals are to help students enjoy studying mathematics and understand why they need to learn the subject and how is the subject linked with their daily lives.
We collaborate with Kenan Foundation, who have extensive experience with designing teaching skills for STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and help teachers realize how to arrange math classes both online and offline during the pandemic. In FY2021, we arranged hybrid sessions that were conducted by teacher training via online classes and mentoring both online and onsite. After two years of continuous support from us, these teachers will help at least 3,600 students improve their learning skills in the future.
Thailand’s students are used to sitting and listening during class. To help students get clearer picture of the subject, we suggested that teachers use easily found basic equipment as tools in the classroom.
The world’s future is up to these small seeds, which will grow and make the world a better place.
On the other hand, this program helps our staff members realize how young generations are being taught and which skills they need to improve. Understanding each other’s background will allow every generation to create innovation together.
