Sakura Ferroalloys has been successfully hot commissioned with the first metal tap

Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kuniharu Nakamura), Assmang Ltd. (Head Office: South Africa; Chairman: Desmond Sacco, “Assmang”), and China Steel Corporation (Head Office: Taiwan; Chairman: Jyh-Yuh Sung; “China Steel”) has capitalized Sakura Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. (Head Office: Malaysia) for the purpose of production and marketing of manganese alloy in Sarawak, Malaysia (“the project”) and the construction work began in December 2013.

Sumitomo are pleased to announce that Sakura Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. has been successfully hot commissioned with the first metal tap occurring early May 2016.
The second furnace will be hot commissioned in July.
